Please leave on your doorstep

I hate these things...

"Here's the new Tattbymail catalogue. If you dont't want to buy anything then please leave it on your doorstep to be collected"

So now you have several choices:

Leave it on the doorstep straight away. The little thin plastic bag is no match for the elements. This means that over the next few days the rain will get in and turn the damn thing into mush or the wind will blow it all over your front garden.

Or put it safely indoors somewhere, then forget about it. This option wouldn't be so bad if the buggers didn't then knock on your door asking for their catalogue back.

If they wanted it back they shouldn't have put it through my bloody door in the first place. It's gone in the recycle box like all the other junk mail I get.

Do they actually reuse them? Take them back from me and then give them out to other houses? Should we start writing rude words inside them see if we can offend a little old lady half way across town? Or is it just a ruse to check if everyone has made an order?

I had two of these the other day. One for substandard cleaning products, and one for some kind of home insulation scam. I had an Avon one too last week, but they didnt even have the wit to put it through my letter box. They just left it on my doorstep on a very wet day. Saved me the trouble of deciding what to do with it as by the time I got home it was already papier mache.

And don't get me started on those annoying sods who keep asking me if I want to change my gas and electricity supplier..... bah.

That's weird, I almost wrote the exact same rant earlier in the week.

I hate it too. As far as I'm concerned if something's posted through my door then it becomes my property, and if it's something I don't want then it goes straight in the recycle tub.

These days, with most of my bills paid online and anything valuable usually delivered to work, I'm tempted to position my recycle tub under my letterbox and cut out the middle man!

Even worse are the telemarketers, that always ring in the evening just when youre having dinner, and why do they always use bloody foreigners so you cant understand them. Im afraid Im rude to them these days.
