Tiptoe through the emails
For those that sniggered at my Dance Mat idea to keep fit, it appears Bill Gates and his team have been thinking similar things for PC users: Microsoft aims to stamp out spam
"Microsoft researchers are working on a way to let people use their feet to perform many routine computer tasks.
By tapping buttons on a pad on the floor users can scroll through their inbox and open, close and delete messages.
The researchers said they developed the foot interface to make interacting with computers more energetic. "
Reminds me of the old joke about the old lady with the PC who thought the mouse was a foot pedal.
The only way I am going to get fit is to rig one of these up to Everquest2. At least when I am mashing the same three or four buttons to craft in-game items for a few hours I could be working up a slight sweat.

"Brian Meyers, from the Step User Project Interface Department who helped develop the prototype."

Thats just stupid Siobhan.
Ok I confess, hand held high, I sniggered at the dance mat, but I'm also keen to hear how it goes. See I love excercise for excercise' sake.

Sounds like fun, but that puts you to think, what other crazy input devices they will try to sell us??
