I'm sorry, this may be construed as lazy blogging, but I really need to go for a soft target once in a while.
Is anyone as freaked out as I am by the new adverts for that toilet paper that has a small baby running the company? The whole thing just makes me cringe. It's partly the voice, but the scary ass look that child has really creeps me out.
And people that have started using the Car signs "Baby on the Board" should bugger off as well.
What is the message here? Selling bog roll is so simple even a two year old can run our company? Babies really know about toilet paper? I thought they used nappies. What you really want is a fat bloke who eats curries all day. I bet he really knows about toilet paper.
Other adverts that are really pissing me off recently:
The Nike advert with the fat woman trying to dance. "Can you tell me I am not an Athlete?" Well, yes love you're a lardy moose. At first I thought it was a spoof advert with somebody in a fat suit (A la Alyson Hannigan in Date Movie) but apparently its not.
I guess Nike are saying - even fat people can wear trainers. Nice slogan.
Oh and as for Cillit Bloody Bang? Who the fuck is Barry Scott and why is he shouting so much? I've heard that its supposed to be Ironic.. but all it is is very annoying. I refuse to buy the product on principle after they used a campaign of comment spam on peoples blogs.
Stupid bloody name and stupid bloody product. Buggers.
I really thought adverts could not get any worse than the Esure ones with Michael Bloody winner.. but sometimes some new ad exec decides they can be more postmodernly ironic and comes up with something even worse.

your right, that tripple velvet add is weird. the voice and attitude of the baby is enough to make me think what the hell? they must really have something against the executive of that company to show him as a baby.
That cillit bang is useless. my uncle used it once, and it just created more mess than was there to start with.

Never seen these ads but I used to rant about the Baby on Board signs. I mean whats my action? do I try especially hard not to drive into that car?
Then someone told me it's for the fire brigade in event of an accident.

OOH I so hate that velvet ad, i think its because they have put that little head on a dwarves body!
