Psst.. Wanna be a tranny?

The nutters have been writing letters again. This time it was Connie that received the deranged rantings of another weirdo. I'm resisting the urge to get out my red pen again though. I've never had a nutter letter sent to me. I'm not sure whether that means I am doing something wrong, or something very right...

There were a couple of lines that interested me. The first was:

"I think I speak for God when I say that you make him sick"

Hmm... claiming to be the spokeperson for God is rather a slippery slope don't you think. It must be a very time consuming job with really crappy hours. Did God tell you specifically to victimise trannies? Hasn't he got a more pressing agenda? And I guess someone else must be working on the Peace Love and Understanding brief, with you just getting the dirty jobs?

The second bit that caught my eye was:

"well its not their fault that they're freaks, most of them are born that way, but as for u , u had a choice"

So yeah. We are all transvestites because we all chose to be one. I remember walking down the street and thinking... "You know what. I really need something to fill those dull evenings once a month. I know, I'll become a transvestite. That's always looked like fun to me!" And off I went and enrolled in transvestite evening classes". And one day, if I study really hard, I hope to complete my studies and get my Masters Degree in "Transvestism and Associated Flouncing".

I bet plenty of us saw the adverts in the back pages of the Sunday papers advertising for "Transvestites Wanted" in the situations vacant. Hmm we all thought, that sounds like fun. I wonder if I can be a tranvestite too and make all the big bucks.

Being a tranny is not a choice. We just kind of "are". Many trannies have tried to stop.. and only end up in a cycle of denial, repression and purging. It can bs stressful having to hide things or having to fund two wardrobes of clothes.

Yes, we chose to be "out and proud" - getting out and meeting friends, showing ourselves on the web and attending events such as Sparkle and Transmission rather than locking ourselves away in a cupboard pretending that we don't exist.

It's the same old crap that we've heard before about not teaching about alternative lifestyles in school in case it "turns people" gay or makes them a tranny. What they can't cope with is the thought that we are all different and some of us are just naturally gay, or have TG tendencies. We were that way from birth, and if you believe in a great creator then he definitely had his hand in making us that way.

We need to celebrate all our differences and the marvel of the wide variety of human culture - rather than letting one subsection of us dictate what we can and cannot do based on their own very narrow set of beliefs.

There are many horrible things going on in the world today - cases of child abuse, mass genocide in places like Sudan, the mess that is Iraq etc etc. Worrying about a few bloks who quite like to wear clothes that are perfectly acceptable on the other 50% of the population should be really quite minor on the grand scale of Gods "Things to do today" list.

    Exactly what I think.
Why the hell those bigoted idiots put us trannies and gays in the same league as murderers and paedophiles, I just don't get it.
to MR. weirdo who left that comment on connies blog, if you're reading this, I am a tranny and I'm also blind. should I now be in the hottest fire in hell? I don't think so some how.

Hear hear ! Pity they won't read our blogs or make the effort to find out more. The fact is the world is more endangered by bigots than minorities like us.

Coming out of lurkdom(not many Brits run websites in the TG scene) but still...popping out of lurkdom to basically say,I'm not a TV but if someone called me a freak for any reason, I'd just reply "yeah, so?"

I don't consider myself to be normal for a variety of reasons and I doubt many TVs do either. Why any of our abnormalities are the business of complete strangers I haven't got a clue.

P.S My website isn't TG but you're welcome to check it out anyway.

My ex says things like, "When you decided you wanted to be a tranny" like it was a career choice...

"What do you want to do when you leave school, Jones?"
"I'd like to be a transvestite, Sir. The've got really nice clothes and there's a good social life if you can force yourself out of the closet..."
