Here come the drums

Well what can I say about the way the current season of Doctor Who is building to a finish. Generally the standard of this season has been excellent and I can't wait for Saturday's finale.

When I first saw the names of the episode titles and saw one was called The Sound of Drums I couldn't help thinking of the Rogue Traders song, and I've had the song in my head all week. It's a great video too, if you haven't seen it before.

So I must admit a slight fan-geek shriek when they played the song in the episode as the universe ripped open. Although I wasn't as bad as some people. Was very cool.



The whole episode was great though, with some superb lines and some lovely moments - such as the tellitubbies, jelly babies, the laser screwdriver (sonic is so old hat) etc.

I'm trying to avoid spoilers so I am happily speculating. 6 billion spheres (did they remind anyone else of Terrahawks?) - one for each of us? Maybe timelord DNA, will the Daleks be back (after the emergency temporal shift in the Manhatten story?), can the laser screwdriver be used to reverse the Doctors ageing?
