Thanks Flickr

Unrelated to some of the current issues on Flickr, I got the email that my Pro account needed renewing. I had a similar email to my boy flickr account a few months back (Yeah, shock horror I maintain two flickr accounts.... I never said that was bad, just writing testimonials to yourself thats a little insane)

So off I toddled to the payment page - only to see that PayPal had been removed as an option. I've always used PayPal and its been fine.

I tried to pay by credit card instead. But once I filled in the form it just took me back to a blank form with a message of some kind of unspecified error with my payment details. No useful help. I tried it a few times, with no joy. So gave up.

I now have about 5 days until my account expired and I was getting a little worried. I tried again in IE and in Firefox to no avail.

Luckily I then had a look on the Flickr Forums. It appears a lot are complaining about this, and Flickr are actually going to be bringing PayPal back. Which is cool.

Even better, it looked like if you posted on the thread about having problems with renewing, they would gift you a few free months to tide you over until PayPal is reinstated. Which I did.

And so I now have my account extended until September. Hopefully I can use PayPal then.

So thank you to Flickr. OK so it was your error in dropping PayPal without thinking it through, but thanks for the swift account extension.
