Get over it

I like the new Stonewall posted campaign "Some People are Gay.... get over it". It's short and to the point. Very nice.

I'd love to see the same thing for trannies. Personally - "Some People are Trannies - Get Over it" would be great.

But I can just tell that we'd spend months just arguing over the wording.

And it would have to be pink.

    With lacey edges.

Just to ruin our credibility :-)

Ah-ha! So that's what its about.

I'd seen the posters, but had always been driving so couldn't read more than the blurb.

I presumed it was a very brave 21st century addition to Virgin's "Making things simple" campaign.

I think the tranny versions would actually need to say "SOME TRANNIES AREN'T GAY. HONEST."

    ;-)

We need something like that over here.

There was one poster at the 7th Ave BMT subway stop that had some lengthy thing about 10% of the population being gay. Which was a bit like preaching to choir - Park Slope (the neighborhood of the aforementioned, etc) is a very tolerant, liberal and politically active quarter; it's also got an incredible number of crossdressers inhabiting it! Many more than average, as far as I could tell. (It's also known for its lesbian population.)

I hope you won't object; I'm going to write about that poster. (Credit will be given, of course!)

And yeah, the whole trans-etc scene would implode over something that simple, as usual. There are just too many who couldn't unite behind a catchy phrase. Even if it's to promote tolerance.

I agree with Penny over it being pink. No doubt the ad folk would say it's "ironic" to be pink...

Will it make any difference? I would like to hope so and it seems defeatist to think that it wouldn't. If it makes a difference to one person's life - was it worth it?

I wonder if we'll see: "It's okay to be different" next time around.

Looks like someone's hacked your blog front page - some of the blog post links go to tsladies.com...

    I think this is great.
Not everyone is just like you. Deal with it.
