Chuckle time

Is this the scariest email ever to arrive in your inbox....?

The Chuckle Brothers Come to Southend

Dear XXXXXXX

INDIANA CHUCKLES and the Kingdom of the Mythical Sulk at the Cliffs Pavilion,
Southend Sunday 8th June at 2.30pm & 5.30pm

In a land that time forgot, the treasures and mysteries of an old and
forgotten tribe lay in hiding for only the brave (and the mistaken ) to
find!

One day Paul and Barry see a job advertisement in the paper. But they can't
read the print very well as someone has spilt tomato ketchup on the article.
They think it reads ''Reward for anyone brave enough to travel', The rest of the
article is smudged and can't be seen.

'We can do that' shouts Paul.
'Oh dear oh dear, something isn't right''replies Barry!

And so our hapless heroes set off on an adventure of mistakes, pitfalls
and danger!

Sounds good eh? Quality entertainment....

My sister received the same email. Her first reaction was that it was a warning from the local police, and I am inclined to agree. Parents, be on the look out for two men wandering the Seafront shouting "to me, to you"

I fucking hate the Chuckle Brothers.

Ooh, what a cynical, hard-hearted bastard you come across as! How can anyone say they "fucking hate" a pair of entertainers with such a jolly-sounding name as the Chuckle Brothers?! How that name alone doth fill my heart with merriment and gladness; I'm sure they're really ever so delightful! (Of course, coming from the other side of the world as I do, I have no fucking idea who the Chuckle Brothers are, and am prepared to consider the possibility that, should I see them myself someday, I might well end up hating them even more than you (though judging from the tone of your post, I'd consider the last thing unlikely)!)

Well, I clicked on the link and um... I think I can see why those guys irritate you so much now, what with their inane routines and endless bad punning. "...for those of you lucky enough to have never seen them," wrote you. Shit, I no longer fall into that privileged category now. It makes me feel like someone who lost their virginity to someone who they realize afterwards they really shouldn't have: sort of dirty. I want my innocence back! Damn you for taking it away from me; damn you to the seven hells! Now let us never speak of any of this again!

Kinda agree. Are they still going? They looked old the last time I saw chucklevision in the 90's. (I much preferred their earlier work as the chuckle hounds:).

My little boy finds them most amusing and perhaps 60 years ago, the Brothers Chuckle could have enjoyed much in the way of slapstick movie stardom :)

That said, I'm not sure I'd like to sit through a whole performance.

One cannot be nostalgic if you keep having craft moments!
